AT&T Caught In
Massive Lawsuit
AT&T Accused of Giving Your AT&T Internet Information To National Security Agency Without Warrant, Violating The 4th Amendment Rights of Millions. UPDATE: April 1, 2010 'Court Rejects Government's Executive Power Claims and Rules That Warrantless Wiretapping Violated Law' The court has again ruled that warrantless spying violates citizens. June 12, 2007: Secret Surveillance Evidence Unsealed in AT&T Spying Case UPDATE: Electronic Frontier Foundation Sues Again - September 18, 2008 UPDATE: EFF Wins Release of Telecom Lobbying Records Sept. 24, 2009 UPDATE: Judge Tosses Telecom Spy Suits - June 3, 2009 Original article here was when suit began. AT&T is being sued in a class action lawsuit charging they illegally cooperated with the National Security Agency secret spy program essentially eavesdropping illegally on all information over the internet of "millions of ordinary Americans". The suit was filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation stating AT&T's cooperation violates the right to free speech and privacy in the U.S. Constitution and also violates federal wiretapping law which prohibits electronic surveillance except as prescribed by law. According to Kevin Bankston, EFF staff attorney, it's possible the Bush Administration will intervene for AT&T in the case and expects a definite "fight with the government and AT&T". (1.) As most of us who have stayed up on the Bush-Cheney Regime already know, Bush likes Emergency War Powers Act type of power and invoking the "state secrets" doctrine, so it would come as little surprise if Bush invokes some of these classified top secret laws to help a corporation wriggle out of this mess. AT&T, apparently afraid of non-compliance with a veritable dictatorship, has certainly gotten its fat butt into a fine mess this time which is certain to cost AT&T stockholders millions, if not billions of dollars in lawyers fees and court costs and possibly even in big settlements. If you have unwisely invested in such a company who violates the rights of American Citizens in order to make a profit I'd say the message is clear: GET OUT NOW and SELL THAT AT&T STOCK NOW !!!!! DON'T INVEST IN COMPANIES AND CORPORATIONS WHICH DEPEND ON VIOLATING THE RIGHTS OF CITIZENS TO MAKE A PROFIT. DON'T INVEST IN COMPANIES THAT ARE AFRAID OF BIG BULLY GOVERNMENT. Naturally the Bush Regime Department of Justice only consented to Electronic Frontier Foundation's filing the lawsuit documents under seal, which is an established method which prevents public access and allows only the judge and litigants to see the evidence. While this may be considered an established practice you must admit this practice is similar to the same modus operandi of the legal quagmire in the Sibel Edmonds case where the rich republican lawyers get to "fix it up behind closed doors" thus protecting the criminals in U.S. Government at the highest levels. See this article, "Bush May Face Impeachment Hearings", by Joe Martin, Tues., Jan. 24th, 2006, from pages at "www.informamerica.net/". The rich certainly have their cozy clubs and alliances to keep themselves, their CEO's, and lacky's and corporations from falling through the cracks, and they use your tax payer dollars, of course, to pay for their lawyers when honest citizens and groups stand up against their tyranny. Assisting in this suit by the EFF, filed recently, which represents, basically, all the AT&T customers of America, are the law firms of Traber & Voorhees, Lerach, Coughlin, Stoia, Geller, Rudman & Robbins LLP, and the Law Office of Richard R. Wiebe. (2) FOOTNOTES: ( 1.) C/netNews.com ( 2.) LinuxElectrons.com, and rense.com Also

White House Keeps Old Watch List Sept. 6,
2009
In a similar vein, the
current 'Obama,
The Executor' White House is seeking to keep terror-watch
list data secret. Intelligence officials in the
administration are behind this attempt, a further violation of
citizens' rights, which would exempt "terrorist identity information"
from disclosure under The Freedom of Information Act.
