Notice
that this
Taurus G2C pistol has a slightly rounded rear slide which enables what
I call a snag-free profile which provides withdrawing it easily, not
snagging on clothing, holsters, etc.. This compact 9mm holds 12 rounds
plus 1 in the chamber and has an adjustable rear sight, weighs only 22
ounces, empty. The gun that was used to kill Trayvon Martin had a
barrel length of only 3.1" and this Taurus has barrel of 3.2", just a
bit longer so is enough to do the job. The full house 9 MM Luger
cartridge is a real power house, much more powerful than a .380 ACP.
With a 'second
strike' capability and no malfunctions in the shooting
test this gun
appears to be very reliable and at the right affordable price.
There is a rebate listed at Bud's
Gun Shop reportedly making this a
$210.95 gun after rebate, but this may be for a limited time, so get in
on the
bargain now. Is your life worth a couple hundred bucks?!
This may be one of the best budget guns available and may go up in
price.
There are lots of crazy homicidal people out there who would think
nothing of carving and ripping you apart like the guys who stabbed and
shredded Lauren
Heike,Kitty
Genovese,Molly
Tibbets and Brianna
Kupfer.
You need something to at least level the playing field and defend
yourself with. You don't have to have a .45 ... the 9mm Luger
cartridge is a real stopper and, typically, is lighter and holds more
bullets and has less recoil than a .45. The great Bill
Wilson of Wilson Combat said he could build a more reliable
9mm 1911 than a .45 1911.
Here are two incredible deals on the well-tried and proven Tisas 1911
45 auto service pistol. This is a full sized 5" barreled original
'Army 45' auto. In trials the Tisas performed right up there
alongside the original Colt pistol.
John
Browning's original handgun design is hard to beat. The 45 ACP
has tremendous stopping power and knockdown blast and is not all that
hard to handle with regular power ammunition.
When you consider you get a free cleaning kit and an extra magazine,
premium lockable hard case, there is little else to buy except the
ammo. This is apparently
the old retro Combat Commander hammer which I prefer and cannot find
cheap. One such hammer I found online is $40, another is upwards
about $50, so this is a real bargain to get it stock on this
pistol. Advise you run a box of ammo through it to break it in.
Incidentally, there are now 8 round clips, magazines available for the
excellent 1911 .45 auto. Kimber makes some fine ones. So if
you choose to top off the mag it will give you 9 rounds of dynamite at
your disposal. I've often said I'd rather have a good 1911 in 38
super auto or 45 auto than a .357 magnum revolver if faced with
multiple opponents. The excellent trigger on the 1911 as opposed
to the long double action pull in the revolver can make for good
accuracy in a bind.
The Tisas 45 auto achieved good results when tested against the
original Colt 45 auto and is a good self defense bet. It has
several safeties - a positive thumb operated safety, a grip safety to
depress before the gun can fire, and, it has a wonderful trigger,
usually very crisp with little to no creep. All in all, this is a
very good bargain for a handgun. Infoeditor
There are several good
reason why you should not build your own firearm, say like a 1911, John
Browning's design.
1.
You can never
transfer, sell such a home built gun. It's illegal to sell it, and I
don't think you can take it to the hock shop if you run short of money. 2. You could build it
wrong and end up with a broken gun and/or injuries or death, although
this is rare. 3. Various companies
have become severely restricted on the sales of gun frames, etc. and
you could be confronted at some point in time by authorities who might
suggest you broke some of their many laws. 4. While there are a
few companies that offer substantial discounts and sales of 80% gun
frames for example, there are now some greedy companies willing to
misrepresent products which they ask top dollar for. 5. Prices for 80%
gun frames and the jigs that tool them have skyrocketed. Some of
these companies are charging way beyond what the frames and jigs are
worth. What started out as a good hobby build thing has turned
into a greedy market.
SOLUTION
- Just buy a
Tisas 1911, for example, and enjoy a wonderful price. You can
tune it later if you find the extractor is too tight, etc., but why pay
around $199 to $210 for just a 1911 frame when you can buy the whole
gun for just $349-$399? And, you get the case, cleaning rod, etc. to
boot. Remember, after you buy the 80% frame you are going to
suffer the cost of the barrel, slide, and frame kit, grip panels, etc.
which has the hammer, sear, trigger mechanism, and, that's probably
going to cost substantially more than the ready made Tisas!
Just remember, you cannot legally sell a homebuilt gun and it's going
to set you back probably more money than a bargain Tisas!
As you may know, powerful pistol calibers such as the 9mm Luger, 38
Super Auto, 40 S&W, 10mm, 45 ACP, etc. have considerable muzzle
blast and recoil and may be hard on arthritic
hands, leaving you to
consider alternate calibers for self-defence. The 22 Long Rifle
either in rifle or pistol is not as reliable as a centerfire caliber
that has the primer in the center of the cartridge. Something
about the rimfire priming fails sometimes and the cartridge fails to
ignite and fire. That leaves pipsqeak options like 25 auto, 32
auto, and the more powerful 380 auto also called 380 ACP (Automatic
Colt Pistol designation), designed and created by the prolific firearms
inventor John M. Browning.
Modern 380 loads yielding over 300 foot pounds of energy surpass the
older standard cartridge loads of about 200 foot pounds and can really
blow the hell out of something and I would say are pretty adequate for
self-defence. While mild in recoil the 380 still delivers a
degree of stopping power and those arthritic hands might not be too
uncomfortable when firing the 380. People who are sensitive to
muzzle blast and recoil might actually discover the 380 pleasant to
shoot. You are much more likely to hit your target accurately if
you are shooting a comfortable gun.
A distinct advantage is having a full size 380 while also having a
hideout micro mouse 380 of the same
caliber. Remember, a .380 ACP in the pocket is better than a 44
magnum you left back in the safe! That thug threatening you is
liable to have a severe headache he won't recover from while you might
get to keep your life and belongings.
Below is a video created by hickok45 doing a field test of the .380 ACP.

Remember CO2 guns are not toys and
can cause injury or death if
mishandled. Always wear shooting glasses or some kind of safety
glasses when shooting any gun.
